Coaching Philosophy

At Warehouse Courts we have high standards for any coach that gives private / group lessons on our behalf. Our coaches go through a rigorous interview process providing sample lessons to actual athletes. We watch, grade, and provide feedback to each of our coaches. We look for the following criteria in our coaching staff:

Substantial Playing Experience: The coach should be able to demonstrate a long history of playing the sport they coach at the club, high school, and collegiate level.

Communication Skills: The coach should be able to teach athletes of all different ages and speak to the athlete on a level that makes sense relative to their age.

Positive & Friendly: The coach must have a positive and upbeat approach to teaching young athletes. While many coaches have been successful as “tyrants”, they won’t work at Warehouse Courts. We believe in building up the youth of tomorrow and encouraging them to work hard every day to get better.

Creative Thinkers: The coach must be able to show flexibility in their coaching approach without sacrificing core principals in the sport. Not every athlete learns the same way, we consistently encourage our coaches to find ways to better connect with each athlete individually vs. using a blanket approach to all students.

Great Teachers: Last but clearly not least, we expect our coaches to be great teachers. Knowing how to do something and showing others how to do something are two very different skill sets. Our coaches must have both – the ability to do and the ability to show others how to do it.

Your Feedback is Needed
We welcome your feedback after your private lesson. If there is something that you love or something you think we could do better, we want to know. Our goal is to build long-term relationships with athletes and coaches and your feedback is critical to achieving that goal. Speak with a Warehouse Courts employee, call us, or send us an email with your feedback to coachingfeedback@warehousecourts.com.
